Pitt County Democratic Party Committees for 2007-08
Working committees meet approximately once per quarter and are a great way to put your special skills or interests to good use.
Steering Committee
Mission: To formulate and submit to the Executive Committee a strategic plan for funding, grassroots organizing, membership and candidate recruitment. To develop a mission statement to help guide the activities through the next election cycle and beyond.

Precinct Leadership Committee
Mission: Ensure the effectiveness of implementing the PCDP Strategic Plan through Precinct Chair recruiting, training and Executive Committee meeting participation.
Executive Committee
Mission: To increase involvement with Democratic and Unaffiliated voters in the precincts through the precinct officers.
COMMUNICATIONS
Mission: To issue press releases, as needed/appropriate, and to communicate upcoming events, special sessions and activities of interest to the membership body; to technically maintain an accurate and topical website(s), and produce online and printed materials in support of all working committees.

Headquarters Support & Administration
Mission: The goal of the Pitt County Democratic Party headquarters is to provide a professional level of administrative support for the Party, to present an appropriate image of the Party to the public, and to provide a home for Democratic activities and information.
Community Outreach Committee (Grassroots Organizing, GOTV)
Mission:This group will be responsible for targeting key precincts within Pitt County for voter registration, outreach and get out the vote (GOTV) activities. Voter registration activities will occur on an ongoing basis via neighborhood canvassing and community involvement. If you're active, energetic and enjoy meeting new people, this is the group for you!

BY-LAWS
Mission: To review the structure and procedures of the County Party and recommend any additions or changes to assure effective operation of the County Party, in compliance with the governing rules of the State Party. A copy of the current By-laws may be found online at ??. Also, recommends changes to the State Party by-laws.
Campaign Committee (Elections, Candidates, and Issues)
Mission: To recruit qualified candidates for all elected offices and positions on every ballot in Pitt County; to educate and engage the public by developing language that provides for a consistent message on current issues.
Standing committee of 7 members to be elected at the county convention on odd year
Finance Committee
(Budget, Fundraising and Membership)
Mission: To actively encourage and recruit Democrats who currently reside in Pitt County, NC to become active members and financial supporters of the Party, so as to strengthen the effectiveness, reach and influence of the Party in electing Democratic candidates to office and as to fund other work of the Pitt County Democratic Party.
