Democratic Candidates General Election November 2008

Judicial Elections
All Judicial races are officially "nonpartisan" and party affiliation does NOT appear on the ballot. Primaries were held at-large and the candidates with the two highest vote totals appear on the General Election ballot without regard to party affiliation. This page and the website www.ncdemocraticjudges.org attempt to help voters determine who to elect.
Note: If you choose to vote a "Straight Party" Ticket, please note that you still must vote for President and for Non-Partisan Races (including all Judicial Races below) as they are NOT included in "Straight Party" voting.

| In each of the races for State Supreme or Appeals Court, candiates compete for a particular seat on the State Bench and voters may select one on the ballot. In each case (except the Ervin/Ruth race below) the candidate shown is the Democrat in competition for the seat.
In the Court of Appeals race below, both candidates are Democrats seeking the same seat, but you can only vote for one. We encourage you to visit their campaign websites and use those resources or other sources you trust to determine who to support. |
